I describe my process of creating they project was very quick because it all came together very quickly. I started this project in Gauge Band on the way to a ski race. I used inspiration for Travis Scott and 21 Savage to make this beat. I really like feeling or need that I got every time I hear it. I love the transitions that I did and how well they fell in line with the other beats. I used a lot of key board shortcuts to help me manure around Logic Pro. I really like this project and hope that Dylan will be able to rap over it.
I feel like I worked hard on this beat in and out of the class. I feel like this beat could've been a lot better if I worked on it a little more. One thing that I like is the summing stack with the three instruments I it. The three instruments that are in it are a bass line, alien singing, and an ice mallet thing that sounds very cool. another thing that I like in my beat it the snare in it. I edited it so it echos perfectly to the next one. In the B section I love how I used the voiles to create a melody that sounds very cool. I like how I made the bass lower so it rattled the room when it hit one of the note.
At the start of the project, I didn't know what I was going to do. So I started making a trap beat because those are so much to make. I started to make it and couldn't figure out how to do it, so I asked Dan, and he said make a house beat, so I made one. It is an upbeat beat that gets me hyped. It has three different sections, but all are very different. In the first two sections, I used the compressor to get a pumping effect to make it bump, if you know what I'm saying. I used risers to get you hyped to beat.
This project was a struggle. I couldn't figure out anything that worked I tried every that I could possibly come to this planet. I tried to make a house beat of vocals of a song that did not work because it is super hard to do that. So I say, Dr. Donn, what are two pieces I should mash up" (8 Reath). So he said, "I am not giving you songs; I am giving you artists" (10 Reath). So he gave me Doja Cat and Ed Sharon. So I really don't like Ed, so I replaced him with The Police. I used Roxanne from the police and didn't think it would work, and it worked so well. So I stayed with it and pitched the voice, made a few edits, and we got the song. This project took so long to figure out until I got the two pieces.
One thing that I used this time was doubling up the main instrument line and panning it to each ear making the beat dead in the middle and having something panning to each ear. This beat style is hip-hop. I made the first section really trying to find that flowed well with the high hats I picked. I made my beat by first finding the snare and kick and making them sound good together. Then I move on to the high hat and then the bass. Then I started to find that piano. I then found the Post Up Swirly Sequence as a beat in the background and it worked so well. Then I created the second section like that trying something cool but nothing really worked out so I looped the main beat out and found this sick brass part and was like oh that's awesome then I found some sick trumpets and the second section was done. I then was scrolling through tik tok and saw this dude talking about Pharrell Willams's signature tag on all of his songs so I tried it and it sounds sick. I used the 4 count throughout the beat having the trumpets come through the beat when it is quiet making it sound so cool. Then I just made panned everything and animated it. Yeah and there's 4 Count.
